As a 14 year veteran of state service and a current member of the Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development (DHEWD) Organizational Learning Team I have held many positions with DHEWD including Case Manager, Customer and Technical Support Unit, and Office of Apprenticeship and work based learning. In that time I have had first-hand knowledge providing and assisting with providing services offered by our full service Job Centers. In my current roll I create and present training to DHEWD state staff and partner agencies.

Estelle Brooks is a certified fitness instructor with a master’s degree in Social Work. Estelle has over 35 years of experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Her professional training as a social worker has allowed her to correlate the importance of mental health status. She is an energetic 69-year-old that finds joy in assisting people individually or in large group settings to achieve optimal health and fitness and life-changing goals. She encourages and supports people to take care of themselves spiritually, mentally, physically, and creatively.

Craig, Jessica, MS, LPC

Jessica Craig is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Human Service Specialist with over 15 years of experience providing individualized recovery services using staged matched interventions, evidence-based techniques for rehabilitation, and clinical case management. She has worked in office-based Outpatient, Community CPRC & ACT, Inpatient Detox & Residential, and Crisis Response settings working with folks’ chemical dependency, mental illness, and co-occurring disorders. Currently, Ms. Craig is the Team Leader for Team Edith Assertive Community Treatment at St Patrick Center in downtown St Louis, MO. Before this position, Ms. Craig was a member of the initial team developing St Patrick Center’s Hospital to Housing Initiatives, focusing on providing secure housing to address healthcare concerns. Over the almost five years at St Patrick Center, Ms. Craig has honed her understanding and skills to navigate the intersection of behavioral health concerns and homelessness.

Winograd, Rachel, PhD

Rachel Winograd, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychological Sciences and licensed psychologist at the University of Missouri St. Louis with a dual appointment within the Missouri Institute of Mental Health where she directs the Addiction Science team. She received her doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Missouri, Columbia, and completed her doctoral internship with the VA St. Louis Healthcare System. Her clinical, research, and program development interests revolve around interventions designed to save and improve the lives of people who use drugs. Her primary focus is on expanding access to medical treatment, harm reduction strategies, and person-centered approaches for those most in need of evidence-based care for substance use disorders in Missouri.

Thompson-Gibson, Lisa, MA, MA

As Associate Director of Counseling Services at Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville, Lisa assists with the administrative and supervisory needs of Counseling Services. She also sees students for individual and group therapy. She provides support using conventional “talk therapy” approaches, along with the use of art materials as a means for nonverbal communication. Lisa serves as the Project Coordinator for iCare, the campus initiative intended to improve on awareness and prevention of suicide. In that capacity, Lisa provides outreach support, trainings, and ongoing programming relevant to suicide prevention.

She has previous experience as a Student Affairs professional working in Residence Life, Judicial Affairs, Study Abroad, Law School Administration, and with the Dean of Students. Her work as a Student Affairs professional informs her clinical approach in working with college students and supporting their academic and out-of-classroom success. She is skilled in working collaboratively with campus partners to advance the mission and goals of Counseling Services.

Boddie, Courtney, PhD

Dr. Courtney Boddie is a licensed and board-certified mental health provider, healthcare administrator, counselor educator and supervisor, and consultant with an orientation toward social justice. He completed his clinical education at the University of Missouri’s CACREP-accredited program, is a fellow of the National Board for Certified Counselors, and holds a specialty certification in trauma counseling through the American Mental Health Counselors Association. With experience in group practice, agency, and college counseling settings, he specializes in clinical traumatology, multicultural and social justice counseling, psychological assessment, and career development. He currently serves as Clinical Director and NBCC Approved Continuing Education Provider Program Administrator at The Counseling Hub and teaches at the University of Missouri-St. Louis and Southern New Hampshire University.

Raynor-McClanahan, Carolyn, MSW, LCSW

Carolyn Raynor-McClanahan is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Missouri who has provided clinical assessments and counseling services for the past ten years to adults and adolescents seeking help for depression, anxiety, trauma, severe mental illness, substance use disorders, sexual and criminal offending, sexual addiction and sexual dysfunction. Carolyn received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Carolyn also is certified as a Clinical Trauma Professional. She currently works for the State of Missouri with forensic clients and provides individual therapy through the Better Help online platform.

Honeycutt, Nathan, MS, LPC

Nathan has worked in mental health since 2006. He earned his Master’s Degree in Counseling. He is a LPC trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused – Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Therapy for Youth with Problem Sexual Behavior, and Motivational Interviewing. He has worked in youth and adult mental health and substance abuse treatment programs. He has worked at Ozark Center since 2012. He is the Clinical Director for Ozark Center Turnaround Ranch in Joplin, MO.

Schmitz, Sara, MEd, LPC

Sara Schmitz earned her BA from Truman State University and her M.Ed from University of Missouri St. Louis in 2009, obtaining her LPC in 2013. She has spent her career working primarily with children and adolescents Sara received her training in EMDR in 2017 and her Certificate in Play Therapy from Mid-American Nazarene University in 2018. Sara has worked in the areas of substance abuse early intervention and prevention, foster care, adoption, and developmental trauma, as well as working in rural, urban, and suburban settings. After spending most of her career in non-profit and community mental health settings, Sara transitioned to private practice work and continues to work with children and adolescents with a focus on trauma. Sara previously presented at the Spring Training Institute in 2018 on the subject of special considerations working with children of adoption.
