Dr. Cox has worked therapeutically with the LGBT community for over 7 years. Most recently, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship in LGBT Interprofessional Care at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, Texas, one of only nine such fellowships nationwide. Previous to that, Dr. Cox has worked closely with LGBT clients in a variety of other settings, including university counseling centers and community mental health centers. He has also lectured and taught on the topic of LGBT health disparities and affirmative care to professional healthcare organizations, religious organizations, medical residents, healthcare clinic, university counseling centers, various conferences, and more.
